The AtHome Server is a software that can on Windows ( XP, Vista or Windows 7), and Mac OS X. It allows your mobile device to remotely connect to your computer, giving you access to your web cameras, desktop, as well as video, music and picture files.

It is really easy to set up the server, there is no need to fill in an IP address, port forwarding, nor is there a need for router configuration, even the computer is behind a corperation firewall.

Just follow the steps below:

  • Download the server software , and run the setup program. Just keep on clicking "Next" to use all the default installation settings.

  • The first time you start the server, you will need fill in a server name as well as a username and password.

  • You will then need to register this server in order to get a CID (Connection ID), which can be used to connect to a mobile device. You can leave IP address and port number blank unless you are experienced and would like to set up the connection yourself.

  • After the server registration is complete, your CID will be shown on the bottom-left corner of the server window. The server is ready to connect.

  • The server is designed to provide many services which you can either enable or disable by clicking on the icons on the top task bar.

  • Beside connect to the server by CID, you can also connect to this server directly by its IP address, if you know your router's external IP address and knwo how to set up port forwarding on your router. Refer to the following page:
